Lesbos locals lose lesbian appeal

“Three residents of the Greek island of Lesbos have lost an attempt to ban the use of the word “lesbian” to describe gay women. The residents argued that using the term in reference to gay women insulted their identity.”

Here’s a daylight close-up of one of the illuminated houses shown here. It turns out that all these lights have been put up to celebrate a marriage in the family. The house owners are Sikhs, a group well known for their fondness for an extravagant wedding.

Tom Waits- Return of Jackie & Judy

In 1995, The Ramones recorded a Tom Waits song, I Don’t Wanna Grow Up. The same song was also recently recorded by my son’s band, Black Shadow.

In 2002, Tom Waits returned the favour by recording this Ramones song for the tribute album We’re a Happy Family.

I am delighted to report that my son’s band Black Shadow won their primary school’s annual Battle of the Bands contest today with their version of I Don’t Wanna Grow Up.
